Hi everyone,

as you may noticed, this saturday I've got my third Daily Deviation :boogie:

I'm very happy about that and I want to say thank you to all, who watch, help and support me and of course to kingmancheng, who featured this work.
Almost three years I worked on this project. Not only on that, you know ;) But I've spent thousands of hours with this work and not all of them were funny. There were many moments, where I thought I'd go insane if this or that won't work another time. And on the other side, there were some really great times, I could spend with many people who supported my work with their actor skills, voices, music and of course critique.
On this point I want to say thank you to my both Professors, Rheiner Nachtwey and Ulf Rungenhagen. These two guys didn't do even one stroke of the brush - but they had a bigger influence on this work than anyone other.

Thank you all very much!

Here you can watch the whole Film with translation on YouTube

See ya all!
Kevin

Hey there,
just wanted to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR DAILY DEVIATION!!! :party:

I'm pretty happy that this time a work got this honor which it really deserves (oh god, is it me that stinks here ?)
No, what I mean is: the first DD, was a work where I didn't had much to do and although I was happy to see my work on the front page, I felt a bit sad, because there were so many other things I've uploaded that took many more hours and I liked way better than this. But these works were outshined by a simple thing, which was rather fun (in the sense of 'hey, let's do something sexy, but uninteresting, just for fun!)...

But this time, I'm so glad to see a project on the front page which I really like and were I put several hours of work.

Here you can watch the whole film in good quality: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEXauM…

Thank you very much :B
Cheers!

Hugo Cabret

I know it's been a while...I am really busy with my projects for study.
You may know, that I'm going into the direction of Film and Animation (also illustration of course, but I would like to go into the moving image area).

So it's self-evident that when I see a really great film, I have to talk about it. And 'Hugo' IS great!
Who thought that one of the most famous directors of our time, Martin Scorsese, would ever produce a family movie? I didn't, especially cause I rather knew his mafia and gangster works, like 'Good Fellas' or 'Casino'.
Against this background it's just much more impressive that he created such a great declaration of love for the medium film - cause this is, what the film is.  It picks the earliest films, produced by Georges Méliès, up and include them into the story of Brian Selznick, who wrote the novel.
The actors are impressive - also the special effects (which creates a really special, beautiful and primarly believable atmosphere). The music was composed by Howard Shore, who is known for the music of the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy and is as well atmospheric.

I linked the trailer underneath but I have to say that 'Hugo' is NOT a children's film at all, like you could think while watching the trailer. It is a magical film for adults with nice scenes for children, but these are not the rule.

In my opinion 'Hugo' (which is in Germany known under the title 'Hugo Cabret') is a perfect film and from its start to the end, clear cinematic magic.

Let me know your thoughts about the film and till then!

Good night,

I just thought I send a little sign of life.

The new semester has started and I'm now going
into the direction of 'telling stories' - means ani-
mations, animatics and photograph and paintings
with action.

For this reason I was looking in the last time for
good examples.
I found a few on youtube which I wanted to share
with you :)

Ben Lovetts 'Eye of the Storm'
Absolutely great and realistic animation for a cool
song
-> www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1mX8p…

Kwoon 'I lived in the Moon'
I linked this 3D animation already in the past, but
it's still impressing and inspiring
-> www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTysF1…

'The Saga of Bjorn'
A 3D animation in another style, pretty funny
-> www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV5w26…

'Out of a Forest'
A beautiful little stop motion film
-> www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmNXSh…

If you also have some good animations, stop motions, or
something like that, please leave a link :)

Till then!
